Well, hello Aunt Effie's! So the wife and I went antuquing up in the Ringold Georgia area over the past weekend. While we were out picking, we asked around for the best place to grab lunch, NOT a chain restaurant! Boom! Aunt Effie's is the place! Gotta say that this local funeral was amazing! We sat ourselves and were waited on in no time and soon had our drinks. We looked over the menu, and it was perfect. Just what we were looking for. I had a hand battered chicken breast with creamed potatoes and mac and cheese. When I asked if I wanted cornbread or rolls, I answered....yes! She looked at me and said, "I know just what you want!" Then proceeded to bring me both! Score!! My wife had the loaded baked potato and a bowl of homemade beef and vegetable soup. She was amazed at the amount of toppings on the taters and the beef in the soup. All in all, i must say, Aunt Effie's is THE place to go in Ringold if you want great food, great service, and great pricing! Definitely recommend Aunt Effie's!

Ah, the Frisco Melt from Aunt Effie's—a culinary revelation draped in nostalgic charm, where comfort meets indulgence, and decadence becomes an art form. This gastronomic marvel beckons with its golden, toasted exterior and promises a sensory journey unparalleled. The bread, crisp yet yielding, is toasted to perfection, embracing the essence of the melt with buttery devotion. It forms a sanctuary for the riches within, a cradle for a medley of textures and flavors. Each bite of this crust whispers of home kitchens and seasoned skillets, of love infused into the mundane. At the heart lies the patty—a symphony of savory, char-grilled ecstasy. Juicy and tender, it holds a secret within its folds: the perfect mingling of melted cheese, cascading like molten gold. This duet of beef and cheese is a celebration of culinary harmony, where the richness of the meat waltzes with the creamy allure of cheddar. Above this foundation, layers of fresh vibrance unfold. Crisp lettuce adds a note of verdant brightness, a whisper of health amidst the indulgence. Slices of tomato, plump and ruby-red, bring a tangy sweetness that dances across the palate, a reminder of summer gardens and sun-drenched days. And then, the sauce—a mysterious alchemy of tangy, savory, and creamy notes that ties it all together. It seeps into every crevice, every fold, uniting the disparate elements into a masterpiece of flavor. It is both glue and glory, a testament to Aunt Effie's genius. To partake in the Frisco Melt is to revel in an experience. It is a bite of nostalgia wrapped in culinary innovation, a tribute to all that is comforting and familiar, yet elevated to the extraordinary. It is a dish that whispers of Aunt Effie’s passion and commitment to flavor, inviting all who dare to take a bite to step into her world of edible wonders. This creation, this Frisco Melt, is not just food—it is a story. A story of care, of tradition, of the eternal pursuit of the perfect bite. It is the kind of dish that lingers long after the last crumb has vanished, a memory etched in the heart and on the taste buds. Aunt Effie, with her Frisco Melt, has not just served a sandwich. She has served an experience, a moment of bliss that demands to be savored and celebrated. For in the golden crunch of the bread, the molten embrace of the cheese, and the harmonious medley of toppings, lies a love letter to all who seek joy in the simple pleasures of food.

I stopped by Aunt Effie’s for a quick to-go order, and I’m so glad I did. The food was delicious. But what really stood out was the service. The cashier who handled my order (I wish I caught her name) was incredibly friendly, patient, and attentive even though it was pretty busy. She walked me through the menu, made great recommendations, and had my order out faster than I expected. You can tell she genuinely cares about the customers and takes pride in what she does. It's rare to find that kind of hospitality these days. I’ll definitely be back. Not just for the food, but for the great service, too.

Came here cause the reviews were great and as long as I’ve lived in Ringgold I’ve never ate downtown. Sadly to say this was pretty rough. Service was good. Friendly. Food was just plain awful. I had high hopes cause some of it looked really good! But the portions were small and food was as bland and appetizing as an old shoe. (The photo I included says it all) they some how made a hotdog on dry kraut look like a turd. We thought it was supposed to be a sausage but it was just a burnt hotdog. The meat loaf was eh at best. Bland taste to everything. Needless to say it was bad just like most restaurants in Ringgold. Good service though. Just look at that photo and tell me you would eat that. Sheesh. 😬

Went for lunch and got the chicken melt. The sandwich was basic but good and the Cole slaw was good too. The booths are torn up in several seats and places giving the atmosphere 4 stars for me. If you are in a wheel chair, you can still get inside easily, but maneuvering back to the bathroom will be tricky. The hall to the bathroom is skinny and the ramp is steep, but once you get up there the bathrooms are large and there is plenty of room to move around.

From the moment we walked in, the owners made us feel right at home. They were incredibly kind and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The restaurant itself was spotless, which made for a very pleasant dining atmosphere. We started with the rice and beans, which were full of flavor and a perfect accompaniment to our meal. The shrimp and steak tacos were absolutely to die for—especially with the homemade corn tortillas that added the perfect touch. And let’s not forget the salsa—simply fabulous, with just the right amount of kick! Overall, we had an amazing experience and would highly recommend El Charro to anyone looking for great Mexican food. Can’t wait to go back!

This place is definitely a must! We were going through Ringgold and decided to order some food to go. I'm so glad we did! The flavor is very delicious, portions are generous, and the food is very fresh! The best part is they have PUPUSAS that are stuffed to the brink and absolutely delicious! Will definitely be back!

Traveling through the area and I ordered the Charro Chicken; the cheese sauce was amazing. Wife was impressed with the Flautas. Bar area had several TVs for sporting events. Nice size dining room that can accommodate different groups of guests.

The food was very good, and there is a lot of variety. Price is about where it should be. The service was friendly but very slow, and it was not busy at all. It took a long, long time to get refills, more tortillas (they only give you TWO tortillas at a time for fajitas, and they are small. Then it took a long time to get two more. I'd give it another try, but I will give time for them to step up their service first.

First time trying this local gem, can't wait to be hungry again to come back! I tried the bacon cheeseburger, and it was thick and juicy! Toppings fresh and piled high, almost couldn't open my mouth wide enough to get a bite! Great flavor, stays together well and makes you want to finish every bite! Onion rings were crisp and crunchy. They don't get floppy and fall apart after taking a bite, and they never got soggy during the course of the meal, now that's a feat most places can't accomplish, but Papa J's nailed it! Fried pickles, again, crispy and well flavored, salty and never got flimsy as they sat between bites of everything else. Standalone pickle was a plus because how often is that an option! Just a standard pickle, but the option is a nice touch! Service was great, got to chat with Terri while we waited for the made-to-order fresh food. She's super kind! Outdoor seating area only, but all food is bagged up in case you want to take it home! If you're driving by, I'd recommend the stop. If you're not driving by, you should stop by anyways! Great food!

The staff is great! The front porch dining with a patriotic theme was really. They only have outdoor seating so be prepared to grab and go or bundle up during these winter cold spells. The place has a very tight small parking lot but we went around 6pm on a Saturday and had no problems finding a parking. I called in my order ahead of time for a grab & go. I ordered the cheeseburger special with tots and my wife got the cheeseburger with fries. We wanted to be adventurous and show support to our new local restaurant so we added onion rings, cheese stick and jalapeño poppers. The burgers seemed to be a thick hand pattie pressed beef and were cooked well with just a little outside crisp. They came fully dressed with American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, pickle. The bun was an average sized flat toasted bun and held the burger with toppings together well. For the price, size, and taste I would give the burger a 7 out of 10. The Tots were really good and had a perfect crisp/crunch. They were not too salty and went well with the burger. I love Tots and give them a 8 out of 10 for the crisp, the basket quantity and of course the taste. The fries were crinkle style and were lightly salted. There was alot of fries in the order, as with the tots. The fries fall off on my rating because the were stiff and kind of tasteless. I would have to give the fries a 2 out of 10 for appearance, quantity and taste. They are still a young business and I'm sure they are still finding their way with the menu items. The onion rings were good and probably better if we had ate them there but in the bag they got a little limp on the ride home. They tasted ok and once again a large portion of onion rings were served. Without taking in to account the ride home in the bag, my wife gives the onion rings a 9 out of 10. The 6 piece jalapeño poppers were like the standard type served in restaurant but the crisp on these was great! I give the poppers a 9 out of 10. The 3 piece mozzarella cheesesticks were the average served in most restaurants but had the crisp like the poppers and the tots. I give these sticks a 8 out of 10 for size, portion and taste. This place is a new go for me. I look forward to my next visit for their catfish platter with tots, coleslaw and Texas toast.

Excellent food and service! Glad this place opened and is within 10 minutes from home. The whole family went last weekend, sat on the deck, and enjoyed some quality family time picnic-style. We loved every item we ordered, handmade hot and fresh right off the grill. The Papa J's burrito my husband and I got were AMAZING! I tried my daughters BLT, and it was so good I'm ordering that tonight. We had 2 orders of crispy delicious onion rings and probably could've eaten a third if we weren't already stuffed full they were so good. Thick bacon, quality meat and fresh ingredients, you just can't beat it. The prices are great too! 100% recommend you try this place and willing to bet your first time won't be your last!

Breakfast All Day! Such an adorable little place & really good coffee. I had the salted caramel latte. Definitely recommend! Shotgun breakfast sampler was so good. A little bit of everything! The bacon was very yummy! We loved the stuffed French toast with strawberry topping. I also bought the cutest coffee cup & saucer with a live potted plant. The had a whole shelf of plants for sale. We will absolutely be back. Our waitress was so nice! Please follow our reviews & leave a like on a photo to help our reach.

Lovely little place. The food is made fresh, but doesn't come from local farms. I really enjoyed the French toast, and could only eat half the pancakes before I got too full. It was all delicious overall. I also got a peanut butter milkshake, which did have more of a protein shake texture, but that's what you get when you order peanut butter so I'm not faulting them. Its exactly what I expected and needed. The place feels like a closed in back patio. The furniture is whatever works as a combination of tables and chairs. I dont drink coffee, but they have a large chalkboard where drinks are listed, along with other menus.

Absolutely love this little place in our sweet little town! I am not a breakfast food eater, but I had the best breakfast I’ve ever put in my mouth here today!! The Roadies Pinky Finger - avocado toast (on a perfectly toasted croissant !) with bacon, spring mix, red onion (also an egg that I actually kept off because I don’t eat eggs) topped with balsamic vinegar - was INCREDIBLE!!! The atmosphere is so fun - and our waitress was great! Got to visit with the owner, too, as we browsed the plants and pots for sale outside- super nice guy! Go visit them!

Pam's Place is like one of those "hidden treasures" in a small town, that you used to read about in magazines. It's only open for breakfast and lunch, and despite how busy it always is, there always seems to be a table available, due to the amazing service of the wait staff. The food is exquisite. Every bite tastes like something you would eat at your mother's or grandmother's. The price is very reasonable, and below what you would expect to pay. It's not uncommon to see the owner working in the kitchen, the dining room, or interacting with the patrons. Most of the clientele are of the older generation, and they are very loyal, and that should speak volumes! If you're just passing through, or visiting the heart of downtown Ringgold, stop by and grab a bite while you're there! It's only a few miles off the interstate. You won't regret it!! It's my grandfather's favorite spot too!

I love the El Agave quesadilla and El Agave burrito! I stumbled on if you get the El Agave burrito and cut it all up and mix it real good after adding about half a side of their fries and adding an entire bowl of their red salsa it is AMAZING!!!! See pics The El Agave burrito has Shrimp, Chicken, Steak, Chorizo, with rice n beans and some salsa verde it sits in on the plate. They pour some queso over it too. They add onions into the burrito but I tend to pick out the big chunks of onion because I tend to prefer onions a bit more chopped up I do love to get a soft shell carne asada taco as well as they are very good too. I think this place is better now than when it used to be Tres Amigos. Back then I didn’t eat there and now I definitely do. I came back and got the El Agave Nachos substitute nachos for Fries and OMG! It is 17.99 but worth it and I need two bowls of salsa to dump on it…mmmmmmm! Foodgasm

Disappointed Long-Time Customer – Time to Move On We’ve been loyal customers of El Agave 3 in Ringgold for a long time — in fact, our group comes in every Friday for lunch. Unfortunately, after our most recent visit, we’ve decided it’s time to take our business elsewhere. We left work early to beat the rush and were seated in a section of the restaurant that, for some reason, is always noticeably slower. Our waiter dropped our drinks on the way to our table — accidents happen, no big deal — but it took two or three whole rolls of paper towels and a broom to clean it up. No mop? No help from other staff? It really makes you wonder how the floors are cleaned on a regular basis. We sat there waiting 6–8 minutes before we could even order because the waiter was on his own trying to clean the spill. Once we ordered, we expected things to move along — but they didn’t. We waited another 10+ minutes with zero communication, all while watching three or four large parties of 8–10 people come in, get seated, receive their drinks and full meals before us. It’s unclear if they ordered ahead — and if they did, how are regular customers supposed to know that? Either way, it completely defeats the purpose of coming in for a “quick” lunch. One person in our party got so frustrated with the wait that they just left. When we finally went to pay, the manager made us wait again while he worked through a stack of receipts. He asked how everything was — and when we answered honestly, he clearly didn’t care. Not even an apology. As long-time supporters (dating back to when this place was still Tres Amigos), we’re extremely disappointed. The service has declined, and it’s clear that regular customers are no longer a priority. We’ve spent a lot of money here over the years, but unfortunately, we can no longer recommend El Agave 3 to anyone. We’ll be finding a new place to eat. What a shame.

By far one of the best places for BBQ, friendly faces, and a relaxed and fun atmosphere! My dad took me here tons as a kid and I still say to this day that Bailey's is one of the best restaurants in the area. The servers know us both by face and name by now and are all incredibly friendly, the decor is welcoming with tons of signs, jokes, and of course pigs lining the walls, there's TVs set up showing various news channels and occasional fun facts about various things for those interested in that, there's a bar table to sit at by the register for those who like a chat with staff, the whole place is usually rather clean and well-maintained, and the food is incredibly good for the price and wait time. Somehow they have the best onion rings I've ever tried, still not sure what they do to make them so good either— highly, highly, highly recommend for anyone in the area looking for good food and great company!

The first thing I noticed when I came inside was how clean the restaurant looked, don’t judge this place from the outside. The chips are light and crispy, the salsa tasted very fresh and very good. I had the servers (Enrique) recommendation of the fajita burrito with chicken and a hard shell beef taco. Everything was so delicious, I loved how the chicken was seasoned. My husband had steak fajitas that he said was very good. We are passing through the area, I’ll definitely save the location so that I can find it again.

I was traveling home and needed a quick bite to eat going the back way through Ringgold. I remembered a good Mexican Restaurant on the main drag but found out it was closed. I saw a local cop and asked where the best Mexican restaurant in town is and he directed me to this restaurant. At first glance you wouldn't think much because it's in a strip mall and not very big or have all the fancy esthetic stuff but the food was very good. I grew up in Texas near the Mexico border so I know authentic Mexican food and this is it. I saw the reviews about slow service but my experience with nothing but exceptional. They were very friendly, attentative, and served exceptional service while I was there. The place was not very full but it was later in the evening. You will find plenty of parking that is for sure even for campers etc the lot is so big. The food was delicious and cooked just right. I just had the cheese Enchiladas with beans and rice this trip but will post the next trip soon too. I would recommend this place and tell them I sent you. Peace out be safe and happy eating ☺
